Below are some questions that we often get asked. Click the drop down for our answer.
Step 1:
All permanent makeup procedures are at least a 2-step process. The initial procedure takes approximately 3 hours, depending on our client’s skin type. During this time, a consultation is done where we discuss your desired look. Once satisfied with the basic shape and symmetry, the area is then traced over and semi- permanent pigment is applied.
Step 2:
The second stage of the procedure is a Touch-Up. A touchup is usually required within 6-8 weeks and takes approximately 1 hour. It is important to complete both the initial procedure and Touch-Up. Without both, the results will not be the optimal. Colors will fade significantly within 4 weeks as the skin heals, peels and fades. The touch-up corrects any irregularities.
The color pigment used is semi-permanent and usually lasts between 1-3 years. The pigment will begin to fade within 12 months. In order to keep your permanent makeup looking fresh, a touchup is recommended every 12 months and no longer than 24 months.
After 1.5 years, full prices for permanent makeup will apply. Clients that choose a softer look and lighter color shape initially or those who did not follow the aftercare instructions, may require more frequent touchups.
Factors that will cause permanent make up to fade:
We take every precaution necessary to ensure the procedure is as pain-free as possible. A strong topical anesthetic cream is used prior to and during the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible. Many clients are pleasantly surprised at how little discomfort they experience. Several of our clients have fallen asleep during the procedure.
When we have a body tattoo, there is always quite a lot of fear and mystery surrounding it. For creating the perfect brow, Flawless Studios works with your natural brow shape to create a subtle and natural look. Eyebrows are generally naturally asymmetrical. We strive to initially tattoo within the natural brow line without losing too much hair. Waxing off or completely tattooing so far out of the natural growth can be devastating to someone that has a good brow base.
Cosmetic Eyebrow Tattooing frame your face and add beautiful definition. The proper placement of eyebrows will bring out your eyes and often actually change the appearance of the shape of your face.
Immediately after the procedure and in the first 10 days, your permanent make up will appear significantly darker, slightly bigger and thicker. This is expected and perfectly normal, it may continue to get darker over the next few days as scabs begins to form. However, this is not an accurate indication of the finish healed brow result. 15-20% of the color will fade as the scabs fall off within 7-14 days. In some cases, the scabs may take longer to heal and fall off. DO NOT PICK YOUR SCABS. The pigment is within the scabs, and you do not want to pull any pigment out of your skin prematurely.
We use iron oxidized pigment that will fade over time and are naturally absorbed by the skin. Iron oxidize are innocuous, harmless, and perfectly safe for your skin.
No. You cannot have this treatment done if you are pregnant in case an infection develops.
The area can be a little sore for the first few hours and tender to touch for a couple days.
No. When we implant semi-permanent make up pigment in the skin it appears more naturally looking than topical applied cosmetics. Most people never can tell it is a permanent cosmetic.
During the procedure there may be some minor bleeding; this depends on the client. If you take blood thinners daily, then some slight bleeding may occur. Bruising is rare but can occur. There is usually some tenderness for a few days.
PLEASE NOTE: THE RESULTS ARE VERY NATURAL GIVING FULLER LOOKING BROWS. INITIALLY THE BROWS APPEAE DARKER, BUT FADE SIGNIFICANTLY OVER A TWO-WEEK PERIOD. IT IS ABSOLUTELY CRUCIAL TO HAVE A TOUCH UP DONE. IT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO PREDICT HOW WELL YOUR SKIN WILL RETAIN THE PIGMENT. DUE TO THIS AND MANY OTHER VARYING FACTORS, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE YOUR RESULTS.
